The published sizing formula allocates your stake and then lets the round trip overspend it: a stopped trade loses the stated risk plus the spread and commission, every time. This sizes against the loss that actually lands, prints the textbook figure beside it, and shows the gap.

The ratio is division; the number it exists to produce is the break-even win rate — the hit rate below which a strategy at this ratio loses money. This computes both, then both again with the round trip included, because costs shave every win and pad every loss, always in the unforgiving direction.

A Sharpe ratio is an estimate with error bars that every ranking calculator omits. Paste your per-period returns and this computes the ratio, annualises under a convention it names, prints the interval your sample supports — and refuses below twelve periods, because noise deserves a refusal, not a decimal.

An evaluation has two exits: the target, and the rules that end the account first. There is no universal number of trades that proves an edge: the figure scales with the square of your edge’s dispersion-to-size ratio. This computes yours — the luck horizon — from your own log, puts the interval on the result that pays rather than on the win rate, and refuses below the floor.

Session tables disagree because they hide two decisions: whose wall clock the boundaries live in, and what happens when the clocks change. This one states both — every window is New York wall-clock, daylight saving is handled once by the tz database, and every boundary is editable because the published conventions genuinely differ.

## Why the working is shown

A number with no derivation is a number you cannot check, and every one of these tools is computing something a rule document also computes — where the two disagree, you need to see which step diverged. So each panel prints the arithmetic underneath the answer in the order it was performed. The method is short enough in every case to redo on paper, and each page states it in full for readers without JavaScript.

They also state their limits. None of them knows your rulebook and none predicts anything. One of them does compute a probability — the [risk of ruin](https://hadalinstruments.com/glossary/risk-of-ruin/) calculator — and it can only do so because *you* supply the edge it runs on, from your own measured record. An edge estimate supplied by this site would be invented rather than measured, which is why that page asks how many trades yours came from and reports a range rather than a figure. Where a preset appears it is labelled typical and left editable, because pip values, spreads and contract sizes vary by broker and this site does not assert one broker's convention as a fact about your account.
